Welcome to MD-400. In this class we will be exploring technology and its relationship to education. We will have the chance to work on a number of hands-on projects. You should set up a free BLOGGER account so that you can sign in to make a posting to this blog. You will be making your own blog so this will set up the account for you. I can't say that there is something specific I would like to learn in this class. In my prior ed. tech. classes I have learned so much from my professors and peers just in discussions, projects, and explorations. It is my hope that in this class I am given more opportunities to explore the many facets of technology and to create a community in which we can share that knowledge. I can't tell you how many cool websites, tools, etc. that I have learned so far and I look forward to continuing that in this class. I hope that this is a valid answer :/
I want to learn how to integrate technology into my lesson plans. I need ideas on how to use publisher, powerpoint, photoshop, and all the great google apps with my students so I can create lessons that they will respond well to.
I'm well-versed in technology already, but there are countless things left for me to learn, so I'm looking forward to learning all I can through our projects and discussions.
I have very little knowledge in technology... I have no idea how to work Photoshop! I want to learn how to use different programs that are mentioned in the syllabus. More and more teachers are integrating technology into their classrooms and I think this is a wonderful way to make class time more interesting, entertaining, and engaging. I would also like to learn about different ways that my future students (I'm an education major) can get creative using different applications and programs for outside projects and assignments. Ideally, I would like to learn about the purposes and benefits of the different programs that are available and used in today's school systems.
I would love to learn more about how I can use technology in my classroom. We live in such a tech savvy world that it would be wonderful to expose my students to newer technology – such as iPads, smartboards, different computer programs, etc. I also would love to research more about how many teachers today use website/blogs to keep parents up-to-date and involved in what is going on at school. I feel that I will benefit greatly by learning more about blogging and how to integrate it into my classroom for parents and students to use/follow. Unfortunately, we will not be learning about smartboards; however, it is something that I would really like to learn more about. I have seen so many special education teachers use them, and it would benefit me greatly to be able to learn more about smartboards and how to use them in my future lesson plans with special needs students.
I would really like to learn about what kind of technology is available to me as a future special education teacher, and also what would benefit the students that I work with. I know how to use an iPad, but I would like to learn more about the available apps that are targeted toward education and how to use them. I'd also like to learn more about smartboards, since they seem to be the future of classroom learning. I also want to know how I can use technology to the advantage of some of my very low-functioning students. Can I use some of the same products and programs with students who are at various intellectual levels? I want to know how flexible some programs are.
I would like to discover ways to incorporate technology in the classroom whether or not I have the support of the school system. The electronic devices students bring into their classes are a terrible distraction. But trying to prevent kids from using devices that can be so easily hidden in the palm of their hand or between the pages of a book is a losing battle. My hope is that more and more school systems will embrace technology and that I will be able to hit the ground running in any classroom, no matter the level of technology integration.
I am very excited to learn all things in this class. I can say that I have pretty good overall technology skills but I strongly believe that they can always be made better and there will always be something new to learn, especially with technology. I would like to learn about the different softwares available to help students access different information and materials and help them to benefit what learning style works best for them. I want to broaden my knowledge of ways to create easy tools on the computer for management for both myself and students. I would also really enjoy learning about photoshop and how to be more creative digitally.
I want to learn how technology can make my job as a future special education teacher easier and more effective. I have heard a lot about how Ipads and the apps they offer are very helpful for special ed. students and would like to learn more about this. I also really like the idea of creating a blog for my students parents so I am really happy to be learning about blogs. I also really enjoy learning about how much technology affects our learning systems and I hope this continues throughout the course.
As we live in a technology world, I would like to know how I can integrate technology into my classroom. I would really like to learn different programs to encourage creativity in children, to motivate them in learning (especially children who struggle in school). I would like to learn to do multimedia presentations to enrich my lessons. I am not a confident user of technology. I hope that in the end of the semester I will have an opposite opinion and learn to effectively incorporate technology in my classroom.
First of all it was my first time to take learning style quizzes. But I always knew I am a visual learner. It is never enough for me just to listen to a lecture because I get distracted easily. I stay focused and remember better with visual aids. I liked “What’s your style” quiz because after taking it I got good tips for visual learners. I found “Learning Style Quiz” helpful for me as a teacher. Children come with different learning capacities. Information in this test can help me to identify children’s strengths and understand their learning styles. I can create and modify lesson plans according to children’s capacities and intelligence.
I have just started my Masters Degree, this is my third class, and I would like to learn how to make the best use of technology. I feel very comfortable with content, but need to know "what's out there." I really enjoyed reading the introduction to "Raw Materials for the Mind."
I am excited about this class and how much experience I am going to get with a variety of technology. I am looking forward to gaining experience with Photoshop and podcasting. I have been able to work my way through Photoshop a little bit, but I would like to feel like I actually KNOW what I am doing. I am already finding useful tips, for example the Google form, that I think I can use in the current position. I am also looking forward to creating a web site to see how they come together. I am taking everything in and always thinking how I can apply this to what I do now and what I plan to be doing in the future.
I want to learn how to EASILY navigate through these learning programs. I also want to learn how to "speak" in the digital language and how to connect this with students today, especially K-5. I want to learn how to integrate more than just a powerpoint or word document into lesson plans, but interactive learning websites and interactive quizzes and games that are also educational.
I'm not very technologically savvy and am hoping that this class can not only introduce me to new programs and resources available for teachers but also teach me how to use them and make them effective for the students. After the first class I am already amazed at the wide variety of new resources out there that I'm not familiar with and am eager to learn how to use them.
I would like to know how to use a website to put students homework and events on. I would like parents to go onto my website when I have my own classroom to check their child's work and what they have for homework. I would like to photoshop also. I would also like to know how to use smart board technology. Anything I learn from this class is going to be helpful!
I'd like to learn more about how to edit pictures using graphic art. I'm also interested in how to incorporate this into my classroom using a SmartBoard. I like using technology with my kids. If I could, I'd have an iPad for one of my students because he learns very well through computer programs.
